Gulf South Forest Products wrapped up a productive week at the Do it Best Fall Market in Indianapolis, September 25–28, 2026. Shawn Dwyer and Sam Yohanan met with building-materials retailers and distributors from across the Caribbean and Central America, including leading companies from Barbados, Grenada, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Honduras and El Salvador.
We also met with companies from the Eastern and Central United States that are looking to South America for new sources of supply. A highlight of the show was our meeting with the owners of Freund, El Salvador’s historic family-owned hardware and building-materials chain, founded in 1913. Conversations centered on lumber, plywood, doors, moldings, siding and pallet materials, including our new pine and eucalyptus lines from South America. Buyers kept coming back to the same needs: consistent quality, dependable supply and flexible mixed-container programs that deliver products retail-ready.
